A select few of the Ohr Avraham students:

Yerachmiel Soltz
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Yerachmiel first arrived in Israel in 1994. After a five-month stay working in the orchards of Kibbutz Ramat Rachel in East Talpiot, Jerusalem, he made his way over to Yeshivas Aish HaTorah. He spent over 3 years learning there and another 2 and a half years running and directing the Israel Fellowship Program. After marrying and moving to Ramat Beit Shemesh in 2001, Yerachmiel opened Soltz Appliance Repair, repairing all major household appliances in the Beit Shemesh area. All the while, he found time to learn for 2.5 years in Kollel Beis Tzvi followed by another 2.5 years at the Gra Kollel. He has been learning at Ohr Avraham since 2006.
Aaron Ross
A Micro-Biologist from San Francisco, CA, Aaron has been at Ohr Avraham ever since he arrived in Israel in 2005. Aaron majored in Infectious Diseases at Stanford University. He is presently contributing editor of the widely circulated English Journal, "Focus," published by the Palo Alto, California-based Jewish Studies Network where he studied while still living in the United States. Aaron is currently completing a commentary on the Passover Haggadah, bringing new light to primary sources and classical commentaries.
charles (9K) Yonatan Meyer Carno
Yonatan hails from Johannesburg, South Africa. After spending his formative years in Shaarei Torah, he moved on to Yeshiva College High School before making his way to Israel in 2005 and joining Yeshivas Ohr Avraham. Yonatan is one of our more athletic students, and particularly enjoys tennis and soccer. When asked why he loves Ohr Avraham, Yonatan replied, "It brings out the best in a person, and what's better than that?"
Adam Levy
Adam, from London, England, attended Leeds University where he studied Business. Adam arrived in Israel in 2003 and headed to Yeshivas Aish HaTorah, Jerusalem, where he became a madrich on the Essentials Summertime Program. In 2005, he joined Ohr Avraham where he has been ever since. Adam is an excellent soccer player, and brings that same enthusiasm to the Beis Medrash on a daily basis. He is also a contributing writer to the weekly yeshiva newsletter.
charles (9K) Alon Elkabir
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Alon attended Wits University in South Africa where he double majored in Accounting and Information Systems, and was a top qualifier in the 1999 Accounting Board Exam. In addition to working as an Information Systems Specialist at Anderson Co., he volunteered at the CSO Jewish Community Centre. Upon arriving in Israel in 2001, Alon attended Yeshivas Aish HaTorah, Jerusalem for one year before becoming part of the first group of students to join Ohr Avraham upon its founding in 2002. He currently lives with his family in the Sanhedria Murchevet section of Jerusalem.
Dovid Burns
Dovid joins us from London, England, where he graduated in 1998 with a degree in Medicine. From there he moved on to St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School where he earned his Medical Doctrine in 2003. Before moving to Israel in 2004 and joining Yeshivas Ohr Avraham, Dr. Burns worked at Harold Woods Hospital as well as in North Middlesex Hospital, both in England. He currently lives with his family in the Mishkenos Yaakov neighborhood of Ramat Beit Shemesh.
charles (9K) Michael Glass
Originally from London England, Michael studied Economics at Cambridge University. After graduating, he took some time to study at Yeshivas Ohr Sameach in Israel before returning to London to accept an accounting position with Pricewaterhouse Coopers. In 1999, Michael returned to Israel and headed to Yeshivas Medrash Shmuel where he studied for 4.5 years. Michael then studied at the Mir Yeshiva under the world renowned Rav Asher Arielli and joined Ohr Avraham in 2006. The yeshiva has been fortunate to have Michael fill in as a substitute lecturer from time to time. In addition to being a guest lecturer at the Belmont United Synagogue in England, he is a contributing writer to a parsha publication that is sent out via email to subscribers around the globe. Michael currently lives with his family in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
Chanani Emanuel
Chanani made Aliyah from Johannesburg, South Africa at the tender age of four, when his family set up their home in Har Nof, Jerusalem. While he attended Maarava High School, he found time to volunteer at a Russian High School in Afula. Chanani and his co-volunteers brought inspiration and joy to the young faces of these Russian Olim. After high school, he spent some time in Ofakim before moving on to Afula under the leadership of Rav Dov Harris. By 2007, he was a student at Ohr Avraham. In addition to his regular studies at Ohr Avraham, Chanani has embarked on an intensive halacha studies program.. While at Ohr Avraham, he is also pursuing his degree in Architecture. He is currently taking courses at Machon HaCharedi Magen in Bnai Brak, focusing his studies on Interior Design.
